National Pie Day Event Ideas

Move over churro – it’s time for pie to shine. On January 23, celebrate National Pie Day with a slice of your favorite pie (I’ll take a veganized earl grey chocolate mousse pie from Truffles & Tofu, thank you very much).

If you love pie as much as we do, then you are probably searching for fun ways to incorporate pie into your next event. Well, search no more! Here are our favorite tips for creating a pie-tastic party!

1. Centerpieces

You can’t spell centerpiece without “pie”, so why not showcase pie at your next event? We love using 2-3 vintage cake stands to create height at our tables, with a different flavored pie on each stand. Need florals? You can top each pie with a single, large bloom or create a floral wreath for each pie tin.

2.  Pie Favors

Everyone loves edible favors, so for your next event, use mini pies as your placecard. From a wrapped pie pop to a boxed mini pie, this is one party favor that definitely won’t go to waste!

3. Tray Passed Pie

Late-night treats are the perfect way to end your evening event. Tray passed mini pies are fantastic bite-sized desserts – you can even pair it with your favorite drink for a nostalgic twist.

4. Pie-Inspired Cocktails

Yes, you can have your pie and drink it, too! Soothe your soul with this tasty pie-inspired drink adapted from HGTV.

Warm Apple Pie Cocktail

  • 6 oz. apple cider (heated)
  • 2 oz. Tuaca liqueur (brandy liqueur flavored with citrus, vanilla and spices)
  • whipped coconut cream
  • pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg
  • 1 cinnamon stick

In a glass coffee mug or heat-resistant goblet, combine your heated cider and Tuaca. Top with whipped coconut cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Add cinnamon stick.

P.S. How will you celebrate National Pie Day this year?
