Have you ever been to an event only to see centerpieces discarded at the end of the evening? It happens more often than you might imagine, so this Thanksgiving, dress up your dinner table with these easy decorations that are not only festive, but also sustainable!
Fresh Fruit Centerpieces
This easy to make centerpiece is delightfully delicious! Simply fill up a tall glass cylinder vase with fresh seasonal fruit, like apples, pomegranates or persimmons. No need to add water! These colorful arrangements can then be eaten after Thanksgiving.
Nothing says Thanksgiving quite like pumpkins. On your next visit to the grocery store, pick up some edible squash or winter gourds to use as dishware. To make your dishware, cut off the tops of the squash or gourd, remove the innards to create a cavity, and then fill with your favorite dips and small bites. Make sure you save the innards to make a delicious dessert, like these squash cakes from Sweet Phi. Once your bowls have served their purpose, you can either use them for a future recipe or compost them.
Pine Cone Placecard Holders
Create a rustic feel at your dinner table, and make sure every guest feels welcome and knows where to sit with these adorable pinecone place card holders. You can either print out or hand write names to add a personal touch!
Before you recycle your empty wine and beer bottles, try upcycling them into beautifully painted masterpieces. All you need is spray paint (gold would look amazing) and paint markers if you want to leave a festive message on your bottles.
