Partner Spotlight: The Kind Bride

We are excited to continue our Partner Spotlight series and introduce you to Daniela Degrassi, the founder of The Kind Bride, our favorite vegan bridal resource. Her comprehensive directory showcases vendors around the world, making it simple for couples (and event planners) to discover new event vendors, regardless of location.

We had the wonderful opportunity to meet Daniela earlier this year. She has some really excited news to share…keep reading to learn all about it!

Tell us what inspired you to start The Kind Bride.

I wanted to combine my experience as a wedding professional and my need to be a gentle advocate for a vegan lifestyle. Realizing there was a lack of resources for vegan brides on the market, I found the inspiration and created The Kind Bride, a platform that focuses on and celebrates vegan weddings. I launched the blog in February 2018.

How long have you been in the event industry?

I’ve worked as a wedding/event photographer for about 15 years. I was based in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also did a few destination weddings. I loved being involved in many aspects of planning the wedding, like visiting the venue prior to the event to study light conditions and scout the best spots for photographs.

What brought you to the event industry?

I started my photography career working as a portrait photographer and a couple of years later one of my clients encouraged me to photograph her wedding. Since that magic day, events became my favorite gigs because, besides a few posed photographs, there are so many opportunities to capture candid moments or stylish ambience and food details. There is never a dull moment during weddings!

Do you miss photographing weddings now?

Working in the wedding industry can be addictive! It’s such a special time in people’s lives. I am really glad I can still be involved in weddings through The Kind Bride blog. It feels even more meaningful now, because vegan weddings are such an unique niche. I think that couples who decide to incorporate their lifestyle beliefs into such an important day deserve so much credit and I am glad I can celebrate that through the real wedding stories  we can feature on The Kind Bride.

What else do you focus on at The Kind Bride?

I love to inspire brides and help them find resources! I am so fortunate to have a team of contributors that help me create useful content through their expertise. Our features range in many different areas: wedding fashion for brides, grooms and their party, venues and vendors reviews/interviews, a wide selection of vegan wedding planning tips and a bit of vegan lifestyle. On The Kind Bride, we host a global Vegan Wedding Directory by Continent/States, a real hands on help for brides to shop for local wedding suppliers.

I also moderate a private Facebook Community Page, to connect vegan brides and vegan vendors. A platform where brides can reach out if they have questions and need help/support while planning their wedding.

How can a vendor join your Directory?

It’s a free service and I welcome vegan and vegan-friendly wedding businesses to send me a short bio that includes the areas they serve, their website address and logo. They can use the form on our website or simply email me at daniela(at)thekindbride.com

What industry trend are you most excited about?

The growth of veganism has been so exponential in the past few years and it’s really exciting to see how it’s affecting the wedding industry. So many vegan couples are boldly planning vegan weddings these days! Knowing how stressful planning a wedding can be, for vegans it is multiplied by a crazy number!  That got me thinking and I decided it was time to plan a fully vegan bridal show where a vegan couple could experience a sense of normalcy. Imagine walking in a wedding expo and not having to doubt, wonder, stress about if the vendors would even know what the standards are for a product or service to be vegan.

We are now partnering with Verte Luxe, an eco luxury platform and marketplace to launch the first ever vegan bridal show. The Luxe and Kind Bridal Boutique will take place in Los Angeles on September 8th. I JUST CAN’T WAIT!

That’s exciting news! Tell us a bit more about the event.

We are really thrilled to showcase Los Angeles best vegan event professionals such as you lovely ladies of Pink Salt Cuisine! From food catering, to beauty, fashion, entertainment, photographers and videographers, we are creating a luxe, intimate boutique event and pop up shop. Anyone who’s interested in visiting our show can stay tuned for continuous updates through our Event Page on Facebook. We look forward to see you there!

PINK SALT NOTE: Tickets to The Luxe and Kind Bridal Boutique are available for purchase here. Early bird pricing is available until July 30.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your day?

Since I split my time between my home in Italy and Northern California, I have two different lifestyles. When I am in Italy, I love spending time with my sister and go for long drives, or I’ll be in the kitchen experimenting new vegan recipes I invent. When I am in California I lead a more social life and enjoy meeting my friends, going wine tasting and add some extra traveling if possible. But no matter where I am, I always make time for my yoga addiction. I practice at home at least 4-5 times a week.

If you weren’t in events, what career path would you have chosen?

I’ve always been fascinated by nutrition, and I would have probably have seeked a career as a naturopath.
